Cotton Market News and Commentary

Cotton futures ended Monday with most contracts steady to 19 points higher, with news limited at year end. The US dollar was lower on the day with crude oil higher, generally supportive to commodity prices. Markets will be closed on Tuesday due to the New Years Day holiday. The presidents of the US and China confirmed another phone call between them, both making nice ahead of scheduled negotiations. The Cotlook A index was 130 points from the previous day on Dec 27 at 80.55 cents/lb.

Mar 19 Cotton closed at 72.200, up 1 point,

May 19 Cotton closed at 73.500, up 1 point

Oct 19 Cotton closed at 73.580, up 19 points
