Cotton Market News and Commentary

Cotton futures are steady to 8 points higher at midday, with news limited at year end. The US dollar is lower at the moment, generally supportive to commodity prices. Markets will be closed on Tuesday due to the New Years Day holiday. Trade negotiations are expected to take place in early January between the US and China. The presidents of the two countries confirmed another phone call between them. The Cotlook A index was 130 points from the previous day on Dec 27 at 80.55 cents/lb.

May 19 Cotton is at 73.57, up 8 points

Jul 19 Cotton is at 74.53, up 1 point
